This past Saturday, we experienced a dance club named after its location on the border between Kreuzberg (former West Berlin) and Friedrichshain (former East Berlin).

Word on the street, it is Berlin's top electro/house/techno club and one of the world's most famous. It has a strong reputation for a strict, selective, mostly random door policy.

The line split into two: left through the red light entrance or right through the blue. The result of choosing blue meant getting past this gentleman along with three of his colleagues

We were in queue with a few hundred others and probably two-thirds of those awaiting before us were denied access.

Blue. PERMISSION GRANTED.

Departure for us was 6:00 AM and there were close to another 100 people in line waiting to enter. We are still unsure what time the club actually closed Sunday, if not until Monday.
